A few months, or weeks, ago I was lucky enough to do a photo shoot of the band Purple Mafia working with Rick from ItchyKoo Photography in Wetherby. We worked primarily in the studio with the boxes above and a few shots outside using a sofa and a single flash. I really enjoyed the experience even though it was shattering and it did show me that I really couldn't cope doing that everyday as job. It seems like it could end up taking the fun out of photography, especially the hours of editing, so i'll stick to shooting whenever I feel like it and not when I'm told to.
I hope the band like the photos and I hope everyone else does too. Haven't bothered with any set-up diagrams because the studio ones were too complicated and the outside ones are too simple to bother.

York
The first time I've been out with my camera properly since I finished the project and it felt good. I haven't been in the mood to go out and take photos recently because they never seem to come out nice enough now, it's probably just because I spent so much time on each photo in the project and now everything seems a little mediocre.
But I enjoyed taking a few photos whilst going around York in the sun on Saturday, would have liked to take more street candid portraits but oh well, still pleased with the few I got.
We also went to the art gallery near the minster/theater, it's really worth a visit, got a couple of Lowry's which are seriously nice, plus it's nice to sit out in the sun at the cafe too.
I tried to work more on the editing side of things for these photos, experimenting with some new techniques and such.

50/50-50
50/50
50
50 photos, 50 days, 50mm lens. Finally done. Finishing my project 50 with a picture of all the prints of my photos. I love having prints, although they have the white border, which I may have to cut off at some point. But anyway, this picture was taking in George's attic and took around 40 minutes to stick all the prints up with blue tac. Simple lighting cause I wanted it to be about the images and be a clear/clean picture.
The t-shirt wasn't that small, it was cause I was bent over.
Project 50 Statistics - 50 final photos
- Around 2000+ photos taken during the project
- 8 people/models
- 100+ hours of shooting, editing and uploading
- 20,000 Flickr view during the project
So, to anyone considering a Project 50 or similar project, I'd say, do it. It is hard work, annoying, tiring (I didn't get to bed before 1 most nights) and takes a lot of time but it is so worth it. I've learnt so much from it; from Photoshop/editing techniques to learning to use my lights properly and effectively. I don't think I'll be doing it again, I have some ideas for shorter projects in the future but nothing this size again.
Big thanks to James Hodge, George Cudby, Simon Hartley, Jake Levi, Geoff Archer, Peter Archer, Maggie Archer, James Kelly, Sam Kelly, Rufus and anyone else who helped or even favorited a photo on Flickr. It really means a lot!
I have 12x8" prints available here on my BigCartel site. They're a very good price and all the money will go towards creating better more interesting projects in the future! Plus it's nice to have a print if there's a photo you like!

Sit And Stare
The penultimate picture of the project. This is one i'd had planned from the very start, I saved it for towards the end because I thought it would be one of my best. It's not as nice as I would have liked but still. Been using a blue gel the last two days, works nice with the red. The prints of the first 45 pictures arrived today so I need to get a few more printed and I'm set for my last picture tomorrow!
PS. Check out James' photo for today.

Phonebox Murderer
Wasn't the picture I had planned but I'm going to save that for tomorrow I think, or the last day, depending if my prints from Photobox decide to arrive or not (Do not buy from them, poor service)

Beards Are Cool
Met up with Jake again this evening after taking a picture of him on like day 7. Had no idea what I was going to do for the photo so just tried some different stuff, ended up liking this sort of framing with him to the far right. Only 3 pictures left now too!
PS. Check out James' photo for today.
